Shorten time to value in ERP projects
Once you have your data, you need to understand it. For it to be comprehensible, your data needs to be described - to have context, meaning and lineage. For that you need metadata. Metadata is the 'glue' which connects people, processes and systems across the ecosystem.
Begin by getting your existing metadata in order - and here you need to start with the challenging items first which means application metadata (designed for applications, not people, and therefore likely to be of the machine-readable variety).
Access data dictionaries in ERP or CRM packages
That may sound straightforward but many applications either do not provide helpful data dictionaries or the metadata are not 'business-friendly' e.g. the column heading does not immediately enable you to understand what data is held in there as the internal data structures are application-centric. In CRM or ERP packages, this can be particularly awkward. Nor are cloud solutions immune as they may have several database instances (for scaling purposes) each of which might have a customer table.
Without Safyr tooling, discovering and managing application metadata without specialist tools can be a labour and time-intensive process.
